Express Life Claims Process
We understand that the loss of a loved one can be a very difficult and confusing time. That’s why we make it our priority to keep the claims process as simple and streamlined as possible.
One of the ways Industrial Alliance is able to make it easier for employers and beneficiaries to manage the challenges of the situation, is through Express Life claims processing. This process eliminates days or weeks of delays associated to paperwork requirements before a payment can be issued.
Effective September 1, 2012, if the amount of Basic and/or Optional Life Insurance is less than or equal to $75,000, the claim may qualify for Express Life processing. The employer or beneficiary can simply contact Industrial Alliance’s Group Life and Disability Claims Department at 1 877-422-6487. Claims that are eligible for Express Life claim processing will be referred to one of our qualified claims analysts who will request the following information over the telephone:
- Information about the deceased (name, date of birth, date of death and cause)
- Policy, Class, Division and Certificate Number
- Beneficiary Information (name, address and phone number)
The analyst will complete most of the paperwork and will answer any questions regarding the claim process. Once all relevant information is obtained the analyst will be able to determine if the claim is eligible for immediate payment without any further paperwork.
