Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President and in partnership with the Group Division Contract Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Division management for the compliance functions. He works closely with members of the Group Insurance management team and the corporate legal services to ensure that our processes comply with the company's regulatory requirements and risk management standards.
The incumbent assists the Contract Specialist in analysing the impacts of legislative changes on operations, on new products and ensures that existing products and services remain compliant. He/she is also responsible for interacting with the corporate departments with respect to regulatory and operational compliance and must maintain quality relationships with internal and external partners. This includes, but not limited to, the development and oversight of the policies and processes pertaining to privacy complaints, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF).
He/she handles the group insurance complaints and makes they are handled promptly in an equitable manner. He produces the required reports on complaints handling and regulatory compliance.
In addition, the incumbent identifies area for improvement in terms of compliance and can develop training material for staff. He/she can train staff on compliance issues, privacy and other related issues. The incumbent provides support to the different group insurance teams on questions related to compliance and contract interpretation.
He/she must also ensure that its functions are carried out in a continuous improvement manner. It must respect the standards of service in his functions, particularly for the management of complaints.
Bachelors’ Degree in Law, Administration or any other combination deemed equivalent of training or experience
5 years of relevant experience ;
Good knowledge of the Group Insurance market ;
Knowledge of the laws governing group insurance products across Canada ;
Has a keen sense of customer service ;
Strong communication skills ;
Ability for teamwork ;
Excellent analytical skills;
Speaks and writes English and French ;
Knowledge of Windows and MS Office environments.
